Creative time-out at Stilwerk Strandhotel Blankenese
Immerse yourself in an inspiring world with us in the stylish studio of this beautiful Art Nouveau Villa with a view of the Elbe. It’s the 1st May holiday weekend, so you might even be able to enjoy a short trip to beautiful Hamburg. The boutique hotel is located in the first row at the Elbe, so you can take a wonderful walk along the Elbe in the May sunshine during your lunch break. You will find the villa with 12 individual rooms in the famous “staircase district” in Blankenese, which is culturally interesting and has great restaurants.
A whole day full of creativity & sensuality
In the morning, you will get to know all the essences of the scent palette intensively and explore the first inspiring accords. Corinna will introduce each essence and you will learn how to smell them properly. And since we have plenty of time on this special day, you have an extended range of essences at your disposal, so you can go into many directions with your perfume creation.
100% natural essences
The individual facets are easily grasped, olfactorily perceived, and become familiar. You will discover the difference between base notes, middle notes and top notes for the classic structure of a perfume, learn about a first simple fragrance architecture as well as the classic fragrance families. We use 100% natural essences such as rare woods, precious floral absolutes, sensual spices and warm gourmand notes.
Lunch with the perfumer
Over a light lunch in the sun-drenched Club Room of the Strandhotel, you will receive additional, exciting insider tips from Corinna and can ask personal questions about your perfume design ideas so that you can learn even more.
Your self-created perfume at the Day Retreat
In the afternoon, you will create your own personal perfume intuitively and playfully, supported by Corinna’s tips and expertise. Finally, you will learn how to fill your eau de parfum into your high-quality glass bottle (15 ml) – just like in the lab. You will of course take your perfume home with you later, including the recipe. A feast for all the senses
Finally, we fortify ourselves with delicious petit fours with edible flowers as well as rosemary-pear-goat’s cheese sandwiches & cucumber sandwiches with yuzu cream cheese & dill flowers. We will toast together with a glass of Prosecco or hibiscus tonic (non-alcoholic) while we talk about the finished 100% natural eau de parfums. This is a great way to end the day – and all in this beautiful setting with a fantastic view over the Elbe.

You can come to our Perfumery Day Retreat without any prior knowledge. From 15 years. So just bring your creative spirit and an eagerness to learn! All the necessary materials are provided by us. You’ll see – there’s something wonderful about experimenting with natural essences, and your creativity will unfold easily!

Meaning [ Retreat ]
“Retreat” refers to a planned break or withdrawal from one’s usual surroundings. While the term is also generally used in English for phases of relaxation or stress reduction, the meaning of a spiritual practice has become established in German-speaking countries.
Slowing down & reconnecting with nature
In our relaxing Perfumery Day Retreat, you will experience a retreat from your usual environment and release stress through focus. You cultivate your inner artist while you playfully decide which essences are your favorites and in which fragrance direction you create your perfume. Your inner observer has plenty of time to perceive the variety of feelings and memories that flow through you.
Recommendation: do not wear perfume
On the day of the retreat, you should refrain from using strong-smelling creams and perfume altogether so that you can concentrate fully on your own perfume creation.
